Calamity Jane is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…
Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Calamity Jane is a beautiful black and white girl, estimated to be around 2–3 years old.
She arrived in February 2026, a few days after her sons, having been found straying in a local garden. When she first came into our care, she was incredibly scared and timid but with lots of hard work, kindness and patience from our wonderful volunteers, she has slowly started to come out of her shell.
These days, Calamity Jane is beginning to trust her carers and will now come to them for treats! This is a lovely step forward for this special girl and we know that with the right person, she has the potential to continue blossoming.
Calamity Jane could potentially share her home with another cat, provided introductions are done slowly and carefully. However, she would also be perfectly happy as the only cat, where she can enjoy a quieter life with a loving human all to herself.
Calamity Jane is looking for a special someone who understands that trust takes time. She needs a calm, patient home where she can settle at her own pace, feel safe and discover how wonderful life can be.
Could you be the person to show this lovely girl that she has nothing left to fear?
