Tilly and Tomina

Pretty sisters

Tilly and Tomina are timid cats looking for a special, understanding and patient home…

Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Tilly and Tomina came to SCRT as 6 month old kittens, after being rescued from the streets of Birmingham. It is suspected that they had been straying for most, if not all, of their little lives.

Tilly soon warmed up to foster life, however Tomina spent her first 6 weeks shaking just at the very sight of humans. Tomina spent a lot of time finding comfort behind the toilet. After a couple of months in foster care, she is now so much braver! She accepts treats out of hands and even comes and complains when her breakfast is late. Once she was introduced to the whole house, her character really started to come out! She was able to discover her love for windowsill napping, and get up to more kitten mischief!

Tilly is a absolute love bug and regularly asks for fuss, especially when it is treat or food time! She has helped Tomina to understand that humans aren’t too scary, and the two sisters always look to each other for support and reassurance.

Both kittens learnt their names in their first six weeks in foster care. Tilly responds to ‘Tilly’, and Tomina responds to ‘Tom’ because until she was spayed, she was thought to be a boy!

These two sisters absolutely adore each other, and would love to continue to grow in confidence and character together with a family all of their own! Both kittens would love to have other feline playmates, but this is not a requirement. They will need an understanding family who can give them time to get resettled. Once this happens, you will see their individual, funny, playful, loving, mischievous personalities come out, and they will happily become part of your furrever family
