Wendy

Adopted 14/3/24

Wendy is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…

Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Wendy has a loving and curious nature, she loves to play and can eat and eat. She’s very good with meal timings, and is clean and toilets very well with litter, never had any issues with accidents or going anywhere other than litter.

She was in a home previously that was not very nice. There was lots of cigarette smoke, some shouting, very loud family. We were told another cat was bullying her. She was scared of humans and other cats when she was fostered. Her go to move was to hide and make herself small. She was first put into a large spare room and given attention and playtime. Eventually having an older partially sighted lady cat with a very chilled out temperament for dinner dates.

This helped her socially and now moves around the whole place with more confidence.
She has come along really well, and is now very trusting, however it will continue to be an ongoing process to make sure she is at ease. She loves crochet blankets, and being fussed.

She’s not a fan of being cuddled, but if you sit still, she will come to you so you can admire her or she will sit on you. She’s ok being held but not for too long. She’s so friendly, and loves to nuzzle.

She’s amazing on car journeys, she loves seeing where she’s going and happy being held when transferring.
