Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.

Hi, I’m Marshmallow,
I’m 6 years old and I once lived in the Birmingham area. I came into rescue in April 2023 with my friends Oreo and Tasha. When I first arrived, I was very timid and spent a lot of time hiding while I figured things out. The world felt a bit scary back then.
Recently, I’ve started to feel braver. If I trust the adult looking after me, I’ll come out to say hello — especially if there’s chicken involved (it’s my absolute favourite!). I also really enjoy Lick-e-Lix treats. They’ve helped me learn that good things happen when I take small, brave steps.
I’m still a cautious and shy girl, but I’m making lovely progress. With a patient, calm and loving home, I know I would continue to grow in confidence. I like to play with my catnip mice and I’ve been seen grooming and cuddling with Tasha, which shows how much I value feline friends.
I could go to my forever home with one of my friends, Tasha or Oreo, or I’d be happy in a home with friendly, cat-savvy cats who understand that I just need a little time. I may be quiet at first, but if you give me love, patience, and understanding, I promise I’ll be worth the wait.
