Kelly is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…
Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Kelly is a beautiful tuxedo girl who came in to rescue after the land she was living on was sold for development.
Kelly lived as part of a colony of cats who had been TNR’d by another charity. She came to SCRT in 2023 with some of her feline friends.
Kelly was scared of humans at first, but she was always the most confident of the group and would approach people at feed and treat time and her confidence has been growing ever since.
Kelly’s favourite thing in the world is a cardboard box! She loves to sit in it, play in it, chew it, scratch it! She gets a new one every week!!
Kelly is a playful girl and will happily engage with people rolling balls or dangling strings.
In recent months, Kelly has started to enjoy being fussed. At first, she would only allow people to stroke her when she was in a certain area of her pen, her safe area, but has started to venture a little further every day for fusses. She will rub herself against your hand, purr and if you are lucky, even show you her belly.
Kelly only has eyesight in one eye as her other eye is completely closed over – this is a birth defect and doesn’t cause her any issues or discomfort.
Kelly would need to live with other cats as she enjoys their company so much.
