Joey is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…
Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Hey! How ya doing? Joey here, the handsomest fella at Maximus Meadows! But I could be right there with you if you could take a chance on me.
Me and my brother Chandler have grown up at Maximus Meadows from being tiny kittens and, honestly it’s been great : we get to live with our very good friends, Talon, Noella, Rosie and the rest of the Car Park Crew, we get up to all sorts of antics and love to fool around, and then, the best bit of all, is when the people come to see us… with chicken! At first, I was super shy, hanging back with Chandler, but recently, I am being more outgoing, accepting touch and curling my tail around kind hands, especially when the chicken is on offer! I just need to feel safe and at ease before I relax. I guess it’s only natural given my start in life.
But I get ahead of myself. You want to know about me and where I came from, right? So, I was born in a garden in Oxford in late 2023. A kind lady found out that we could come here to The Meadows to be safe, so we all arrived. Some of my family and friends have left for their forever homes and that makes me a bit sad because I want to experience the same happiness. Honestly, I would really love it if I could find my forever home with one of my besties (or all of them! Imagine that!). I could come home on my own, but I would really prefer it in that case if you have anotherfriendly cat who could show me the ropes and how to act around you – I do love feline company because it makes me feel chilled out. I will need your trust and patience at first until we get to know each other (and you get to know what my favourite treats are – food is a sure-fire way to win me over!!), but I just have the feeling we will have the best time ever together.
Love and hope,
Joey (The handsome one) xxx
