Chandler and Joey are timid cats looking for a special, understanding and patient home…
Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Hello… it’s us, Joey and Chandler.
We’ve grown up here at Maximus Meadows. This place has been our whole world since we were tiny kittens, born to a stray mum in a lady’s garden in Oxford in late 2023. No other rescue could help us, so we came here, and we’ve never left.
We’ve watched other cats arrive, find their families, and leave for their forever homes. We wonder when we will be next. Our biggest wish is to find a new mummy and daddy who are patient, kind, and willing to help us gain our confidence with people.
- Joey: I’m friendly but cautious. Hands reaching towards me make me flinch, but when I realise they’re gentle I relax.
- Chandler: I’m more nervous, and I run away when I’m unsure. But I always come back, because deep down I want to trust, and I want to know what it feels like to be someone’s special boy.
- Together: We’re playful lads, chasing each other and intertwining our tails as we walk side by side, making mischief together.
We comfort each other when the world feels too big, and so we must find our new home together. We’ve grown up here, but we don’t want to grow old here. Please, let us finally know what it means to have a home.
Love,
Joey & Chandler
