Buttercup

Looking for a calm home

Buttercup is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…

Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Hi, I’m a former street cat who spent years giving birth to litter after litter and raising my kittens all on my own.

In 2023, I finally came into rescue which was a safe place after a very hard life outdoors. I arrived with my daughter Tulip, and although I’m so happy she’s found her forever home, I’m still waiting for mine.

I’m a very shy girl. People still scare me, and I tend to keep my distance until I feel safe. But I do have a couple of very special friends who help me feel brave. I absolutely love Elijah and Cliff; they make me feel calm and understood. I would be happiest being rehomed with one of them, or in a quiet home with another gentle, friendly cat.

I know I’m not the confident, outgoing type, but I have a soft heart and I’m deserving of love too. I just need time, patience, and a home that understands I’ve survived a lot.

If you think you could offer a shy girl like me a peaceful forever home, especially with Elijah or Cliff by my side, I’d be so grateful.

Love, Buttercup x
