Herbie

Adopted 25/6/23

Herbie is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…

Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Herbie has been in care a while, mainly due to trust issues. He’s a very timid boy but when he knows you, he actually just wants a fuss and some treats. I’m not going to lie to you, Herbie isn’t going to be the easiest cat to settle in to your home, but he is going to be worth every last minute! Lots of time, patience and bribes will soon have this boy settled in and accepting a fuss. You have to remember, these street boys have had a tough existence up until now, and all this warmth, comfort and kindness is very new to them. Herbie needs a home with other friendly cats who he can learn from. No dogs as he isn’t keen …… he’s in full health but just needs someone who won’t dream of giving up on him, and is prepared to bribe him for a few months with fresh chicken and treats.
No children, and a home WELL away from busy roads is a must. He will need to be kept indoors until he trusts you (this could be a year!!) So for that reason, homes with catios are our first choice for Herbie. He loves his catio and spends ALOT of time sat in it. No children please, and a calm, quiet house with lots of love to give.
