Daryl

Adopted 19/11/23

Daryl is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…

Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

I’m big and I’m handsome, I’m Daryl. Honestly no photo of Daryl does him justice at all! When he first arrived he was completely withdrawn and was not able to take care of himself. He was paired with a cat he arrived with and this helped him grow in confidence. No having to worry where his food was coming from helped a lot. Daryl started to gain weight and take care of his fur, which now looks like velvet and he has blossomed into the most gorgeous black cat you have ever seen. He is also one of the biggest cats we have, but the most gentle soul, who is also very timid. You will need to work at his pace, but the rewards with this beauty will be endless, and yes he does love his food too so this is the way to his heart. Daryl has to really get to know you before he allows you to touch him but he is quite happy with company and he gets on well with other cats so would definitely benefit form being in a two or more cat household.
If this stunning boy is for you then please apply, he would need to be kept indoors for 6 months, or would equally suit a catio or cat proof garden or a indoor home. Please no busy roads.
