Bunny

Adopted 6/9/22

Bunny is a timid cat looking for a special, understanding and patient home…

Now I have arrived at your home, everything is strange and I don’t feel good.
Do not feel impatient if I don’t sleep in my new basket. Yesterday I slept in the dirt.
Do not be terrified if I gobble up my food. Yesterday I had to do it to survive.
Do not get angry if I pee on your floor. Yesterday it did not matter.
Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday I did not have one.
Have patience with me, it’s your world but not yet mine.
If I trust you, I can give you the greatest gift I have to give. MY HEART.
All I need is a bit of time to adjust.

Beautiful Bunny was born on the streets with her 3 siblings – unfortunately, she avoided capture for a year, despite our best efforts! In that time she had at least two litters – one passed away, the others were rescued at around 6 weeks old and are currently being looked after by another Fosterer.
This all means that poor Bun Bun has had a tough start in life – but is now spending her time in rescue making up for lost time! She loves her food, and is gradually putting on a bit of much needed weight. She does still get a bit over protective with treats, due to still not fully understanding that she no longer has to go hungry or fight to survive 😢.
Since being in foster care, Bunny has come on in leaps and bounds (😹) – she is now very happy to come and greet me whenever I go in her pen, and purrs away whilst head butting my hand if I’m not stroking her enough! She will need time and patience again in her new home though; but it will so be worth it!
I also think Bunny would love a friendly sibling to play with, as she is always looking at what my other cats are doing, and try’s hard to entertain herself with all her toys.
Bunny has so much love to give – and there are few cats who deserve to receive it more.
